2023 Mission Highlights
Our mission provides material support and social connection to homeless residents in Las Vegas, from tunnels to parks, Holy Smoke Misfit Missionaries hosts gatherings between the housed and unhoused.
Our unique approach is proven effective at getting people back inside, and providing good times and opportunities for volunteers.
We are honored to be associated with The Promise, UNI Cares Project, Street Dogz, and 500 Projects of Love, charities that also serve our neighbors living outside.
Check them out too. If you are interested in volunteering or donating, you have options.

Holy Smoke Method
As we are guests in the tunnels/encampments, we don’t push religion, work programs, or rehab, unless someone expresses an interest. If asked, we gladly connect them with resources. In addition to food, water, clothing, and sanitation, we focus on making sure people have IDs, can get mail, and whatever helps them become self-sufficient so they can lift themselves up. By becoming friends with our neighbors, we learn what they need, to not only survive but to thrive.
It’s simple. When your friends go through hard times, you might buy them a drink, let them stay on your couch, offer them a ride. As people we look out for each other. It’s not a big deal. It’s just something you do. Holy Smoke provides the opportunity to be a person for those outside. Come through. Bring materials, if you want, mostly it’s about providing good social experiences.
Homelessness is very isolating. By countering this isolation, Holy Smoke not only alleviates much of the anguish of living outside, we also enable people to rise above their circumstances, and rejoin us in society.
You can learn more about us and what we do at our FAQ page.
Volunteers
You can simply meet us at the 7th and Carson restaurant, at 4pm every Wednesday. Also, feel free to contact us here.
All supplies are welcome. Ice and water in the heat, and handwarmers when it is cold. Frequently requested items include: clothes, shoes, batteries, flashlights, socks, sanitation materials, and pet food (and treats). Any clever ideas are welcome and appreciated!
When it comes to food, we are mindful of legal health code, and so we only provide meals prepared in professional kitchens. Prepackaged food is also fine.
Restaurants that donate food are eligible to receive tax-credits.
Please contact us if you want to donate requested items or volunteer!
